Abe Lincoln's Dream by Lane Smith
For those of you who are familiar with Lane's Smith's work you know that he is often satirical and has a dark sense of humor (at least where children's books are concerned.) So I was surprised when I opened up this book because I found it to be a completely different style from his other books. It took a historical theme with a profound meaning. The illustrations were absolutely stunning. I think I like this new style Lane Smith has taken up.
I must apologize to Susanna Hill and her blog followers for not following the Perfect Picture Book Challenge at http://www.susannahill.blogspot.com/ correctly . I posted my blog before I fully realized what we were supposed to do. I tried to delete my blog from this list but it was too late. I realize this is not the proper format. I just hurriedly threw this quick book analysis together so I wouldn't look like a complete idiot. I feel like the student who wasn't paying attention when the teacher explained the assignment. Again I apologize. Next time I will do the post properly! I am clearly new to this whole blogging thing so I would appreciate any tips or advice anyone is willing to share.
